OMG GOD a lovely and very remarkable author named Andrea Jones has re-written Peter Pan. For me it is ideal.
It is the re telling of J.M Barries classic Peter and Wendy. It see's basically wendy staying with peter and longs for him to fall in love with her. yet she soon realise that she is growing up and so are the other lost boys. Hook is back who is more seductive and enchanting as ever.Wendy realises she can't keep the lost boys from growing up and ends up getting them homes. Hook seduces Wendy who turns into Red handed Jill into piracy.
It is revealled that Wendy has created Hook and Pan out of imagination. Which ever so slightly confuses me and that the relationship between Hook and Pan is more than just over pan cutting his hand off.
The book takes you onto a journey of how Wendy not only comes to terms of her sexuality but also about adolescene and how she becomes hypnotized by those forget me not blues.(God what i won't give to be her mmm)
Andrea Jones makes Hook the ideal gentleman and not the dark villian we read in Peter Pan.
Im so entwined with this book that i can barely contain my excitement for the sequel which will be called "Other Oceans"
It is ...to my knowledge that that Andrea Jones will be doing a series of books about Neverland (presuming hopefully about Hook and Jill) for the those grown ups among us who wish when we were young that the coupling of Hook and Jill had happened.
This book is not for mere children it was for mere adults. Or should i say according to mr. Barrie
"All grown ups are pirates"
